What’s Going on With “The Real Mikado”?

So you might be wondering what’s going on with “The Real Mikado.”  I’m sorry I haven’t posted an update in a while.  I thought we were going to start production on the feature this summer but unfortunately, we have to delay the shoot to next summer.  For those of you in the film industry, this probably comes as no surprise; film productions are delayed all the time.  But I’m sure you’re as disappointed as I am so I can assure you that I made this difficult decision with the film’s best interest in mind.  I want to make this film right– not just right now.  I need to be sure that we have the proper resources and people in place so that this film is the very best it can be.

I’m  very excited to announce that Andrew Corkin, a producer on the Sundance Grand Jury Prize-winning film “Martha Marcy May Marlene,” came on board and under his guidance, we shot a short film last week!  We’ll submit this short to festivals to garner publicity for the project and to give potential investors an idea of the look and tone of the feature-length film.  The added bonus?  We’re planning on using the footage from the short in the feature so even though we won’t get to finish “The Real Mikado” this summer, we’ll get a head start.

I’m excited to move forward on this film.  With your support, we’re going to make this movie and change people’s perceptions and open people’s minds.   Together, we’re going to potentially change the face of American cinema forever.  It may take a little longer than we thought it would, but we’ll do it.
